Micanopy Fall Festival main street |
Hi, my paw friends; it′s me again Road Dog,
Baron. Just want to tell you about my latest adventurist journey. My
human companions and I went to a fall festival located in Micanopy,
Florida and it couldn't have been a better day the weather was just
doggone perfect.
----------
Micanopy is the oldest
inland settlement in Florida. My grandma tells me it is like stepping
back into time in this town. It has many gift shops, restaurants, a
little cute white church that looked like something from right out of
Little
House on the Prairie, and an old
book store and there is even a haunted bed and breakfast. They call it
Herlong Mansion.

Meeting up with a fellow canine at the
festival
|
As you can see most of the time, I rode in
the Baron Doggie Mobile due to the fact that there was a large crowd
there and I had to be sure that my ever-so-wonderful paws stayed intact.
We
paraded through the streets and on both sides of us there were humans
that had booths set up of numerous styles.
I
mean to tell you there was everything from kettle corn, honey, art work,
hand crafted gifts, handmade jewelry,
a
lot of them were local artist, and many different cultures of food. My
partners favorite Bayou Billy's Louisiana style Cajun food stood out.

The most important
thing is
that they had booths for me and my kind. (That's two paws up for me)
In these booths they had things that
are needed for our traveling purposes such as cooling
do-rags for our heads, designer collars, stylish harnesses, clutch bags to carry our belongings
in,
clothes that would fit four legged critters instead of two, and don't
forget our good-boy treats.

Tippie, the Honey Dog, at her booth with
her human
|
Speaking of treats, there was this little
gal. She was a miniature poodle and boy what a doll she was. Her name
was Tippy. Her humans had a honey booth; my companions bought a jar of
wild fire non-processed honey, the real stuff. I was very pleased to
have met Tippy my honey girl.
We then journeyed off to where we saw these two
men that were going to bake a pizza outside, in some sort of brick oven.
Imagine that.
Lots of the businesses such as the pizza guys
have full time restaurants right here in town. Never saw a main street
with so many fun places on it. Lots of antique stores had set up a booth
with things from their stores.

I allowed the Garden Fairy to wave her wand over me |
I met two cute little gals in costumes |
There was a magic
fairy at Garden Treasures.
They sold all kinds
of cute garden decorations. I allowed her to wave her magic wand
over me. She said that it was to make me a good boy. Well, I must be a
good boy because everywhere I go I have people petting me and telling me
"oh what a good boy."

Bayou Billy's |
One of the great toe-tapping bands |
We came upon two fancy little dames. They
were dogged out in cute little costumes.
I
believe that they had a crush on me.
Well
then again who wouldn't
I'm all that and a bag of Beggin Strips.
Anyway the music there
just made me feel like dancing. If you were there it would have had you
dancing also. There were a couple of different types of music being
played.
It
sure was a safe, clean, fun, and sunny, doggie day.
I got to meet new
friends and plenty of my four-legged kind too.
