by Kathleen Walls
This is getting to be a very busy time for writers, myself included. Lots of things are happening.
For instance, Dolly Cummings at Camp Bayou had uploaded her latest newsletter about all the happenings at Camp Bayou in Ruskin, Florida. it's available at this link: http://campbayou.org/newsletters/2010summer.pdf
All About Art is located at 5162 SE Abshier Blvd. (also known as Highway 441), Belleview, Florida 34420. The phone number for the gallery itself is (352) 307-9774. They work hard to showcase local talent including artists, writers, musicians, and persons with special abilities such as being intuitive, card readers and healers . North Central Florida is rich in untapped, unexplored sources of beauty, inspiration and entertainment simply because the public has not yet been introduced to it.
Different social functions are being planned at All About Art to raise awareness of the talent in cnetral Florida. There next event is a Local Author Dinner on July 23, 2010, from 7 - 9pm. Finger food wil be served. Tickets are only $5 and will benifit the Florida Literacy Coalition. For ticlets contact Donna Damato at artful_living_center@yahoo.com.

This three-day program is my favorite opportunity for travel journalists. It offers many opportunities to improve our skill including:
Meet one-on-one with public relations and communications practitioners from convention and visitors bureaus, state, regional, and international tourism offices, attractions and theme parks, major hotel chains and destination resort properties, airlines, cruise lines and gaming venues
Gather new story ideas and background material on a broad range of tourism products
Develop personal relationships with key travel information sources
Network with other travel journalists and editors
Schedule follow-up media visits to destinations of interest
Sign up for participation in upcoming destination-sponsored familiarization trips
Registration is free and open to qualified travel media: Editors, Staff Writers, Assignment Writers, Freelance Writers, Photographers, Video and Film producers for newspapers, magazines, television, broadcast/video/film, internet, travel guides, books. If you are a travel jurnalist and want to see if you can still sign up, the site is http://www.travelmediashowcase.com/journalists/index.php
My big news is that before next issue o famerican Roads is out, my newest edition of Georgia's Ghostly Getaways will be hot off the press. It has almost doubled in size due to all the great new material I found.
